ANC: WE BEGIN WITH BREAKING NEWS IN SPRINGFIELD THIS EVENING WHERE CREWS HAD TO RESCUE A PERSON FROM A FIRE IN THE CITY’S PINE POINT NEIGHBORHOOD 22NEWS REPORTER HAYLEY CROMBLEHOLME IS LIVE IN SPRINGFIELD WITH WHAT WE KNOW SO FAR. SPRINGFIELD FIRE SPOKESMAN DENNIS LEGER SAID ONE PERSON AND MORE THAN TWENTY DOGS HAD TO BE RESCUED FROM A HOME ON WILTON STREET AFTER A KITCHEN FIRE TONIGHT. LEGER SAID THE CALL CAME IN FOR THE FIRE AT 106 WILTON STREET JUST BEFORE 7:30 TONIGHT. HE SAID CREWS WERE ABLE TO PUT THE FIRE OUT QUICKLY, BUT OBNE PERSON AND 20 PLUS DOGS HAD TO BE RESCUED FROM THE HOME. LEGER SAID ONE FIREFIGHTER DID SUFFER A MINOR INJURY- A CUT TO HIS HAND, BUT WAS TREATED BY FIRST RESPONDERS THERE ON WILTON STREET.
