IN MAY THE CITY COUNCIL APPROVED A $375,000 BAIL OUT AND IN LATE SEPTEMBER THEY LOST THEIR LEASE TO THE PAUL JOLLY CENTER. THE NONPROFIT WAS RESCUED AND EVEN GOT ADOPTED INTO A NEW HOME. THE NIGHT TEAM’S ASHLY CUSTER STOPPED BY TO GET A LOOK AT THEIR NEW FACILITY IN WINDCREST.>>Reporter: WITH THEIR BEDS AND TOYS BY THEIR SIDE, THESE PUPS FROM S.A. PETS ALIVE ARE GETTING SETTLED INTO THEIR NEW TEMPORARY HOME AS THEY WAIT FOR THEIR FOREVER FAMILIES. THEY JUST MOVED FROM THE PAUL JOLLY CENTER TO THE PETS MART ADOPTION CENTER IN WINDCREST.>>OCTOBER 31ST WE SHUT DOW OPERATIONS SO WE COULD GET MOVED INTO HERE. YESTERDAY WAS THE FIRST DAY WE HAD THINGS KIND OF UP AND RUNNING.>>Reporter: THIS IS THE FIRST DAY THAT S.A. PETS ALIVE HAS BEEN HERE AT THE PETS MART IN WINDCREST AND THEY HAVE ALREADY HAD FOUR ADOPTIONS SO FAR. THIS IS CLYDE. IF YOU WANT TO STOP BY AND CHECK HIM OUT AND ANY OTHERS AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION THEY WILL BE OPEN EVERY DAY AT 10:00 A.M. THE NEW SPACE MAY BE A THIRD OF THE SIZE OF THE PREVIOUS FACILITY BUT IT HAS FEWER EXPENSES. AND PETS MART GAVE THEM A GRANT. THE RESCUE SAVED OVER 6,000 ANIMALS LAST YEAR BUT NOW WITH LIMITED SPACE THEY BELIEVE THOSE FIGURES WILL FALL BY 3,000. IT’S WHY THEY ARE NOW TURNING TO THE COMMUNITY FOR HELP.>>FOSTER HOMES, MORE VOLUNTEERS THE BETTER, BECAUSE WE ALWAYS NEED HELP WITH THE ANIMALS AND MANAGING ALL THE THINGS THAT GO ALONG WITH MANAGING A BUSINESS.
