Monroe County animal shelter taking flood victim's pets



floodwaters are also put in pets at risk so the Humane Society in Monroe County Illinois is working overtime its shelter is accepting all kinds of animals not just dogs and cats we saw rabbits even chickens there as well a lot of people just have to pick up and go and so we want to make sure that they don't have to worry about their animals we have volunteers that are coming in every day doing shifts to help take care of the animals so we provide the roof you know the food the supplies and any kind of care that they would need and they know that they can come here and visit when they want to but they can focus on their own getting their own safety and their situation taken care of knowing that their animals are safe here the shelter says that'll be accepting pets from the flood through June 27th
