Reporter: MOLLY CAME FROM THE HEMPSTEAD TOWN ANIMAL SHELTER COMPRISED OF MOSTLY HARD TO ADOPT SENIOR DOGS, PITBULLS, MIXED BREEDS. MORE THAN 100 STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS WALK THE ANIMALS THROUGHOUT EACH DAY BUT WANTED MORE. THE TOWN OF HEMPSTEAD APPLIED FOR AND RECEIVED A $10,000 GRANT FROM THE ANIMAL FARM FUND TO BRING IN THE EXPERT TRAINERS. JUST LETTING THEM GET THEIR ENERGY OUT IN A WAY THAT A DOG DOES AND THAT IS THROUGH PLAY. DOGS ARE ASOCIAL SPECIES. Reporter: INNOVATIVE TECHNIQUES ARE BEING TAUGHT FOR DOGS IN GROUP SETTINGS.
