LIVING IN THIS APARTMENT COMPLEX

NOTHING TO COME BACK TO. THE CITY OF ALBUQUERQUE AND RED
CROSS HAS SET UP TEMPORARY
HOUSING FOR ALL 8 OF THE
FAMILIES. MANZANO MESA MULTI-GENERATION
CENTER HAS BEEN SET UP WITH COTS
AND PLENTY FOOD. ONE FAMILY TELLS ME THEY SMELLED
GAS AROUND 5 LAST NIGHT AND NOT
LONG AFTER SMOKE FILLED THEIR
APARTMENT. EVERYONE LIVING IN THE APARTMENT
COMPLEX MADE IT OUT SAFE. IT’S NOT CLEAR HOW IT STARTED. BUT WHILE CREWS WERE FIGHTING
THE FIRE, A GAS METER BLEW U
THE TENANTS SAY OTHER THAN THE
SMELL OF GAS, THEY DID NOT GET A
WARNING THAT SOMETHING WAS
WRONG.>>ONCE IN A WHILE WE HEAR THE
SMOKE DTECTORS GO OFF WHEN
PEOPLE ARE COOKING, BUT NONE
WENT OFF YESTERDAY. NOT ONE.>>I REACHED OUT TO THE LANDLORD
